Joy, success, happiness, love are words not often found in articles about a law firm, yet they encapsulate the story of one of Mississauga’s oldest and most respected law firms: Malicki Sanchez, Barristers, Solicitors, Notaries.

Established by Stefan Malicki in Cooksville in 1959 this 60-year-old law firm is 15 years older than the City of Mississauga which was incorporated in 1974.

When Stefan’s son Marek Malicki joined his father in 1973 the firm became known as Malicki and Malicki and in 2015 when Marek’s son Gibrian Malicki-Sanchez joined as the third generation lawyer to carry the torch it became Malicki Sanchez, a law firm that since 2014 has received the Mississauga News Readers Choice Top Performers Awards numerous times thanks to the excellent service they provide to satisfied clients who refer them and return to them through generations.

This past August 30th Gibrian Malicki-Sanchez married his soulmate, Lauren Tracey. Both, Gibrian and Lauren, a PhD candidate in Molecular Genetics, are passionate about sports; they both play hockey, soccer, ski, run marathons and are avid sports fans. Their passion for travelling and Lauren’s presentations on Molecular Genetics have taken them all over the world. Lauren recently published a paper describing her discovery of a protein-protein interaction that is essential for blood cancer development. This month, they will be travelling to France so that Lauren can discuss the protein-protein interaction she hopes can be a therapeutic target.

This Mississauga born couple, Gibrian, whose father Marek Malicki is a Londoner born to Polish parents after World War II and his Ecuadorean born mother, Elvira Sanchez de Malicki, a community leader who for 20 years worked on television, served in provincial and federal boards and is Malicki Sanchez’s Business Administrator and Lauren, whose Scottish father, Jay Tracey, is a financial advisor and her Lebanese mother, Sandie Tracey, is a school teacher of business classes, come from very large, fun-loving families who derive great joy from the strength and unity that emanates and is shared by families who like and love each other.

The Mississauga News shares in their joy, congratulates Gibrian, Lauren and their successful and happy families whose abundance of love is contagious and brightens so many lives.
